Welcome to the Creatively Crafty Link Party hosted by the Creative Crafters Blogging Group! You’ve worked hard on your project, and it looks great! Share it with us and get the kudos you deserve! Any and all creative endeavors are welcome…crafts, original writing, recipes, DIY tutorials, you name it!

Before we get to this week’s featured post, I’d like to talk about a little trick to help with social sharing. I try to visit every blog in the link up and share each post socially in some form or another. I’ve discovered not all sharing buttons are equal.

Take Twitter share buttons for example. Usually when you share, only the post title and link are published to twitter. Depending on the plugin you use, you can set the twitter button to automatically append your handle to the tweet. Sometimes you can also automatically shorten the link or set it so your featured image is also published. When your handle is published, you’ll get a notification from twitter, and you’ll be able to interact with the tweet however you choose.

I use the free version of Simple Share Buttons on WordPress and will use that to demo how this process works. (If you know how to do the same thing for a different platform, like blogger or squarespace, please share a link in the comments).

After the plug in is properly installed, go to the WordPress dashboard and then Settings>>Share Buttons. Then go to the Advanced Settings Tab. Add your twitter handle in the appropriate field, make any other changes you’d like and save the new settings.

The process will be a little bit different for each plugin, but I definitely recommend that you change your settings to include your handle instead of the plugin publisher’s. I’m looking at YOU, ShareAHolic! Now when someone decides to share your wonderful post to Twitter, your handle will be there for all the world to see (and follow).

I’ll admit Twitter is not my favorite platform, but between this change and another I’ll talk about next week, I’ve increased my interaction without a lot of effort.

And now…this week’s Featured Post!

DIYjewelryboxFeature

I adore boxes of various shapes and love how Andrea of The Beauty Dojo has transformed this pretty wooden box into a stylish jewelry case. Wouldn’t this be a great way to display your post earrings? Mine tend to get lost when I just toss them into a pouch or box.

Feel free to download our Featured Button and display it on your post! I will be pinning your project to our group board as well as a few other Pinterest boards and sharing on other social media as well. I’m sure others will love it, too!

Let’s move on to the round up. Do you have anything creative you’d like to share? We’d love to see it. Browsing through the projects is a pleasant part of my week!

Thank You for sharing your creativity with us. Each week we will sponsor a new link party, and pin our favorites. With so many bloggers participating that means more exposure for YOU! Head over to the other co-hosts blogs to see all their fun stuff.

The weekly features will also be promoted on social media with all features pinned to the Creative Craft Bloggers group board on Pinterest!

There are just a few simple rules:

-Link to a specific post, not your home page.
-Link up something YOU made/wrote/created.
-Giveaways, other link parties, Etsy shops or business links are not accepted.
-Don’t link and run. Try to visit at least one link and show them some love. You may make a new friend.

Please do not pin from these thumbnails. If there’s a post you want to pin please click on the link title to visit the source and pin from their blog.

Not a blogger? No problem! Anyone with an Instagram or Facebook account can link to a photo of your completed masterpiece or work in progress.

Could you do us a favor and share the party on Twitter before linking up?

Thanks for sharing your project with us! Keep an eye out as we’ll be sharing posts on various social media channels during the week.
Don’t forget to take the time to visit a link or two yourself and congratulate your fellow crafters on a job well done!
