Last week I talked a little bit about setting up your social sharing plug in to automatically add your twitter handle when a post is shared to Twitter. I really like it because I get a notification if someone tweets one of my posts, and I can perhaps return the favor.

Today I want to talk about a service called Twitterfeed. It’s free and doesn’t have the prettiest interface, but once you set it up and add your blogging friend’s RSS feeds, it runs without your having to think about it.

If you’ve been blogging a while you probably have a circle of blogging friends and you share each other’s posts on various social media outlets. Twitterfeed allows you to use your friend’s blog’s RSS feed to create tweets automatically.

Once you’ve set up your account and given Twitterfeed permission to post for you onto Twitter, it’s time to set up the feeds.

Enter the home page URL of the blog you want to promote, then check to make sure their feed works. I’ve run into a couple blogs with strange errors, but most are fine. Then decide how frequently you’d like to check for new posts. I’ve set mine to every 6 hours, but there are other choices. You can also decide how much information you’d like to share and if you know their twitter handle you can append it to the tweet (this will let them know you’re sharing their post).

The next step is to decide which Twitter account you’d like to use. I only have one, but I know others have several for different blogs. If you didn’t do it earlier, you can authenticate your Twitter account at this point.

Twitterfeed will let you know it has set up the feed successfully and will begin to automatically tweet as your friends publish a new post. There are more advanced features for filtering based on keywords and limiting the number of posts from any one blog. I don’t bother with that because most of the bloggers I interact with only publish a couple times a week instead of many times a day.

The number of tweets sent to your account will depend on how many bloggers are in your queue and how frequently they publish. Best of all, once you set it up, it all happens automatically and if someone visits your page on twitter they’ll see that you share other people’s content, not just your own.

And now…this week’s Featured Post!

I haven’t had a red, white and blue Summer since we moved to Spain and there are times I really miss it. Especially the backyard cookouts and the stars and stripes on just about everything. This project from Pillar Box Blue, uses upcycled denim and fabric ribbon to make a fun garland that would look great over a tableful of hot dogs, hamburgers, salad and fixings.

Let’s move on to the round up. Do you have anything creative you’d like to share? We’d love to see it. Browsing through the projects is a pleasant part of my week!

Thank You for sharing your creativity with us. Each week we will sponsor a new link party, and pin our favorites. With so many bloggers participating that means more exposure for YOU! Head over to the other co-hosts blogs to see all their fun stuff.

The weekly features will also be promoted on social media with all features pinned to the Creative Craft Bloggers group board on Pinterest!

There are just a few simple rules:

-Link to a specific post, not your home page.
-Link up something YOU made/wrote/created.
-Giveaways, other link parties, Etsy shops or business links are not accepted.
-Don’t link and run. Try to visit at least one link and show them some love. You may make a new friend.

Please do not pin from these thumbnails. If there’s a post you want to pin please click on the link title to visit the source and pin from their blog.

Not a blogger? No problem! Anyone with an Instagram or Facebook account can link to a photo of your completed masterpiece or work in progress.

Could you do us a favor and share the party on Twitter before linking up?
