I’m sure I’ve mentioned before that we don’t have a car. Usually when we want to buy something not available in walking distance we’ll rent a car. Our home town in the states doesn’t have public transportation so things like busses, trains and subways are often kinda baffling to us. But this summer the car rental rates have been ridiculously expensive! This week we sucked it up and took the bus over to the mall in order to buy a few furnishings for our new apartment. It’s not as convenient as hopping in a car and driving over but much, much cheaper.

Of course we had meatballs...we were in IKEA!
Of course we had meatballs…we were starving after walking through the displays!

Thanks goodness for IKEA! The vast majority of our furniture is made by IKEA. When we first moved here we needed basic furnishings and IKEA made it possible to outfit our apartment with simple style. We need armoires for our new place and we’re also looking for a dining set since we’ll have room for one. They’re too big to bring back on the bus, of course, but fortunately IKEA delivers certain items and they also offer a set up service for armoires. It’s totally worth the cost.

And now…this week’s Featured Post!

Creatively Crafty Feature ~ Twinkies from Winnie's Blog ~ Life Beyond the Kitchen

I “met” Winnie shortly after I started blogging through various Facebook share groups and blog parties. She makes the most incredible looking baked goods and showcases them with gorgeous photography. I’m sure you’ve drooled over her offerings in party Creatively Crafty link ups. This week she brought TWINKIES! From SCRATCH! With chocolate GANACHE! Oh how I’d love to eat one…or a dozen. If you don’t have a specially shaped pan, Winnie suggests baking the sponge fingers in disposable baking molds (like these affiliate link). You could also make them in a cupcake pan, but what’s the fun of that? Click the photo, then scroll down to the bottom of the post for the English translation…and enjoy your delicious twinkies!

Feel free to download our Featured Button and display it on your post! I will be pinning your project to our group board as well as a few other Pinterest boards and sharing on other social media as well. I’m sure others will love it, too!

Let’s move on to the round up. Do you have anything creative you’d like to share? We’d love to see it. Browsing through the projects is a pleasant part of my week!

Thank You for sharing your creativity with us. Each week we will sponsor a new link party, and pin our favorites. With so many bloggers participating that means more exposure for YOU! Head over to the other co-hosts blogs to see all their fun stuff.

Thanks for sharing your project with us! Keep an eye out as we’ll be sharing posts on various social media channels during the week. We’re growing and that’s a good thing, although as the party gets larger it will be more difficult for me to visit and comment on every link. So I’m counting on you guys to help out. Please try to find time to visit a link or two yourself and congratulate your fellow crafters on a job well done!

There are just a few simple rules:

-Link to a specific post, not your home page.
-Link up something YOU made/wrote/created.
-Giveaways, other link parties, Etsy shops or business links are not accepted.
-Don’t link and run. Try to visit at least one link and show them some love. You may make a new friend.

Please do not pin from these thumbnails. If there’s a post you want to pin please click on the link title to visit the source and pin from their blog.

Not a blogger? No problem! Anyone with an Instagram or Facebook account can link to a photo of your completed masterpiece or work in progress.

Could you do us a favor and share the party on Twitter before linking up?

  2. Thank you, Lydia! Have a great day!

  3. We love Ikea too. Sadly, Ikea still had not opened any stores in Portugal when we got married, or else all our furniture would come from there. But every piece of furniture (and lots of other home furnishings) that we’ve had to replace since then – we always go to Ikea!

Thank you for hosting another wonderful party. Have a wonderful weekend!
